I just love this cover of Stars go blue by Ryan Adams. It's so haunting.... I love the video it brings back memories of my childhood. My dad raced motorcross and then later modifieds so we spent a lot of time driving from track to track. Just watching these videos bring back that late night half asleep waking up every now and then feeling of being in my dad's truck on the way back from some race some where.
This is a new cut from his latest album the lyrics while sad are amazing. The whole album is amazing. I adore that he mixes old with new. It's so cool to see the slide guitar with music so modern. I love artists that do that. One of my all time favs that does a mix of old and new is Hank Williams Jr the third. He is amazing sadly his lyrics do not do the music justice though a rehash of rebel country, his father could of written them. I also love Shwayze another that mixes old and new but his lyrics like hank are just a rehash nothing to really pull you in and frankly a lot that is offensive. Shwayze sings about using people and how he is proud of it Yuck! Thankfully my son has been introducing me to a lot of underground rap (love the new mixing of jazz and rap that is my favorite) because the mainstream rap while some I like, to me most of it leaves a lot to be desired.
Most often these days on my player I'm listening to Duffy or Adele. Nadia and I think they both are so amazing,I'm glad we like some of the same music it's nice. She likes mostly new punk these days which I like some but not a 24/7 . But both my son and daughter would love to delete Adele's Make you feel my love from my player. The song still has the power months after discovering it,to make me tear up....
