quick pop in because I'm excited

I just had share a few images from my last min fill in. Ohhhh loved the light that day! and sooo sweet the boy.  The mom was laughing at me I would get so excited over some of the images. I have one where he just curled his toes just right and it was things he did like that made  me do my ohhhh ooohhh thing that seems to make everyone laugh LOL! 

Wish I could show you more but I really need to work on the sessions that are due. Oh just loved this shoot!

 

I have a wide angle close up of his fist feeding his face a bunch of sand. What a crack up his face... crunch crunch LOL ! I wish I had proccessed that one now just thinking of it is making me laugh. I'll share it later.

The best!!!

Oh we had the best day yesterday!!! I had a late cancelation. At first I was bummed,it had a been a coveted date and now I was doing nothing.  So I sent out a few emails a few days ago seeing if I could fill the time so late. Well I didn't have to wait long.  A mom that I had a been trying to get together with ,could do the date! yeah for both of us!  But best of all we were going to do the session earlier in the day so my family could.......

go to the drive-in!!!

We had the best time if you come the Cape you must go to the drive in as my daughter put it "It's WAYYYYYY better then the regular movies."  We saw Mr. Bean and Underdog and though I have to admit I brought a book because I was dreading them not my style of movies,I watched every last min and had a good laugh with both of them. Not bad!

so good day! and oh the session I can't wait to get started digging into. The little boy just gave me laugh after laugh,grin after grin..... my heart just melted.....   I can't wait to do their family session in the fall.

He's a repeat and that is the best thing about hiring a person vs. just a studio. The kids and I get to know one another and we instantly become friends again(who can forget the crazy lady) and then WOW the magic!

This young man was so much fun! He had a lot of ideas about the session and I loved that.

This first capture is a pose he saw and wanted me to try. He's a huge Elvis fan and brought a bunch of his poses to try on.  I think he was one of Isaac's favorite shoots,they acted like instant brothers it was funny to watch.

You know there is nothing like good friends YNWM? I was talking to some friends yesterday about dreams.  We've been reading this good book together(strong women ,soft hearts)You know the dreams you gave up on. The things you desire to do but for what ever reason or excuse you've given yourself,you haven't even really reached for them or you've stopped reaching.

Sometimes it's more comfortable to stay in what you know then to  face failure. But it's those challenges those adventures that make me feel really alive. My photography is always an adventure to me as I reach more and more for my dreams but there are other areas I've let go. 

Things I feel I was meant to do but fear and apathy have robbed me.

Think of the times you felt most alive.... Why? what was it about that place and time? Are you missing something too?

It's funny I can tell so easily when I'm off track of where I'm meant to be. I'm jealous of other's sucesses and  feel a need to compare. It's sort of like you stop living.  Such a sad place really.....  There is no one like me,never been any one just like me and there has never been anyone like you,will never be another like you.  It's amazing really.....  How sad to get caught up and miss that.

One of the reasons I love photography is it highlights people,their unique self.

I work in the basement and there are bare bulbs on either side of where I work. Sebastian was hanging out with me when he realized he had two shadows and he wanted to know why that was. So I start explaining that his body is blocking the light etc... but he just skipped right over my explanations and decided it's because the shadow was lonely and wanted a friend to be with him. That's my boy.... LOL!  I like the kid colored version of the world much better.

I'm having so much fun working through these images remembering how loving and fun this family was. I liked how they could laugh at themselves and each other and how they fought (in a fun way) over whose turn it was to do a capture. As a photographer I LOVE that! '

Fun!

Just got back from a fun shoot,the client was a wonderful young man and his mother. I love the kind you just laugh some people are just instant friends.   I'm so blessed that so many of my clients are really nice people and fun!

A sneak peek I just sent. The mom is a really talented photographer and I can tell you I was feeling the pressure! It's a good thing they were so much fun for once it wasn't the photographer who was relaxing clients but the photographer who needed to be relaxed.  It's funny the week I shot them ,I had another really talented photographer ask me if I could do a last min session for her . Ugh Nerves!  But they were another fun lovely family,I had lots of laughs both taking these and processing them!  There are so many I liked it's going to be hard choosing.

It's hard to see at this size but OMG they totally have the same great grin,just loved them playing!

catch up

Just a quick note to families that are waiting for proofs. I'm hoping to catch up this week now that all the seniors are done so thank you so much for being patient :) and hope you feel it was worth the wait.

Some pics of my friend Laura. I still need to dig out mine but here are a few recent ones of her and her fiance.

One of the things her Mom told me was she couldn't believe how many people told her that laura was their best friend.  When Eileen said that to me I could so identify with it because even though I we didn't keep in touch each time we bumped into her she made you feel so loved and missed.  Now she will be loved and missed sooo much. 

I took these off her myspace. I wish so badly I could have done a shoot of her.

I'm back it was the most amazing funeral. Amazing in all the love people felt towards her,amazing to once again look at her life,who she was and how much she meant to so many people.  I've only ever been to one funeral that large my friend Dave M.  Both such incredible people who went home way to soon and still till this day are so missed.

Just a few weeks ago I was a picnic ground that the last time I had been there Dave was there and you know I remembered his smile,his soul and it brought warmth and sadness to my soul. I know Laura is going to be the same way for so many people we will never stop thinking of her. I"ve only ever seen my husband cry twice ,tonight was the third. 

I have tons more I want to say but I'm afraid I'm just emotionally spent I can't bear to think another thought tonight. 

sad day

I woke this morning to the news that a dear friend went home.... Laura was our neighbor when Chris and I were newlyweds. She was over our house all the time.  Chris and I both loved her company so much,she's always been a special person in our hearts. Sadly we moved away and over time lost touch except for the occassional run into and catch up. I wish so badly I had asked her for coffee or just to come over,we said it just never got around to it thinking there is always another day blah blah... now there isn't. I'll have to dig out some old photos of her and post them.  Chris really had the blues today,we both cant' believe she's gone.

Another stunning girl... I have to admit when she pulled up in her car, I was excited I knew she would photograph beautifully. These young ladies,they make my job so easy! I do have to admit though I'm excited to have a senior male session coming up,more of a challenge. LOL!  just kidding!
