How about this for a quick flashback??? Omg her hugely long brown nails ,kinky fro (which I love ,love a fro) then the babies breath reminds me so much of Mom(her hair was a lovely frizzy perm though remember those??? LOL!)This has always been one of my favorite songs of all time. I love the words so much it always gives me good feelings when I hear it.

Planning a wedding!

We were hanging out in bed this morning and Francesca says to Chris (Papa) "You want to see the wedding dress I'm going to get?"  For those who do not know I'm starting to do weddings. It all started in the usual way people just asking and me saying no I don't do weddings. Then I had a client ask me if she could fly me out to Florida in March and I was no no I don't do weddings. My husband was like WHAT!!! Are you nuts Florida is nice in March! So I'm doing weddings now... LOL! We had never thought of being destination wedding photographers DUH! Chris used to travel for his work and I loved going along (We only had two kids and I was a SAHM (stay at home mom). We always thought when we retired we wanted to travel so destination weddings is a good goal!

Anyway a bit side-tracked here... Because of my recent interest in weddings and learning all I can I have some magazines around. Well apparently Francesca has been scouring them and picked out her wedding.  Chris's response to her question... "Oh no it's already started." She went on to show us all the different things she picked out. Also how she is going to marry a cute man like Papa, oh he just loves that! It is so so funny how early girls start dreaming about that day.

It's amazing how soon that day comes. We went to a wedding on Sunday,really fantastic couple both coming from super wonderful families. It kind of made me gushy because they are starting their lives in a way that is similar to how we started.  I still feel like that 22 year old bride, like Chris and are young and really only had a short time together but really we will be celebrating our 20th pretty soon. It's amazing how quick time goes by.  By the way Queen's best friend is our song, Chris made it that way. He said every time he hears it; it makes him think of me. So I love that song! Anyway rambling again..... We knew this just married couple when they were just born!!!! How could so much time have gone by that they are now getting married? Their Dad is grey haired, how and when did we all get here??? It just snuck up on me. I had some other thoughts but I'll stop rambling and save some for next time. Aren't you just waiting on bated breath! LOL!

This session as all my sessions have a mix of traditional and candid. I also processed some with cross processing (funky polaroid look) but I also show them regular color so you get to choose which you like. I adored the candids in this session! I’ll have to upload their slideshow! Candids look great mixed in with traditional in a wall gallery. Anyway I promised a sneak peek here you go guys!

It's been a crazy week and August is going to be even more so! I just got home from shooting a fun large crowd lots of Boys! So lots of action! I can't wait to start digging through them! I love laughing and I had a lot of laughs tonight!!!! I know your reading this,so thank you guys for such a lovely time!  and Nicole you will be seeing your mug here soon I promise! (she wanted to know if she would make the website! LOL! what a ham!)

Well I can't leave you without someone so ...  This sweet baby doll is going to be living on a boat full time sailing the world. I'm so green!

Choosing a photographer

I was reading an article in a local Cape Cod magazine this morning. They were talking about how to go about choosing a photographer. One of the photographers being interviewed said something I think is so important that people do not realize while shopping for a photographer.

“A lot of photographers will put only their very best work up, which is not a true representation of what you'll be getting. Seek out sites where you see an entire session beginning to end" 

It reminded me of a time once that I was saddened when a friend/client told me about some work she had done a while ago and how her photographer must have had an off day. She had bought into the hype of a portfolio, it’s pretty common.  A good portfolio doesn't mean they have the skills to consistently deliver those type of images; it could be they got lucky a few times or their idea of a good session is a few "good" images.

I’m going to keep sharing full sessions on and off.  I love that I can share sessions this way it really helps people to know if I am the photographer for them. They can see the mix I try to capture in each session. It's amazing how many people view them and the feedback I get really brightens my day. I've heard things like they make me appreciate people and my family again, they make me cry, I always check every day to see if you've added a new one etc... Here is a quote from one mom after viewing their slideshow

Scene me groggy still in bed eyes closed, Sebastian middle son comes in like he does each day for a snuggle.

"Momma, Momma open your eyes I want to see if your eyes are still beautiful.”

I groggily force one eye open.

“oh beautiful, they are still so beautiful!"

Cape Cod Beach 4th of july!

This is only way to spend the fourth. LOL! We did our usual marched in a parade hung out for the festivities afterwards then headed to the beach.  The fourth is my favvvvvorite holiday!!! Seriously I think it's always the most fun day all year, even this year despite the rain.  I don't have any firework captures because we were huddled under our umbrella in the drizzle. Still the die heart NEasterners wouldn't let a bit of rain spoil our day. A funny about the day....

Ollie stripped himself naked and was running about being NE a little girl was shocked "Mommie look at that little girl! She's naked! " Ummmm must of been a bit of a shock when he turned around LOL!  I think it really is time to cut his hair... I keep putting it off those baby curls....
