peaceful lazy summer days

are the best! The kids and I spent the entire day at the beach yesterday.  I love staying till everyone  starts going home and it quiets down and the sun starts to sink. I should of waited to take shots till the sun was less contrasty but by that time I was feeling so peaceful and lazy I had no interest.  These are at a pond not beach :(  My oldest two love the rope swing at this pond so sometimes I take them to the pond. I much prefer the beach.)

click to view it slightly larger. I did a cross proccessing on these which is why the color is a bit different.

and this totally cracked me up! I was trying to get a capture of her little ruffle butt when she did this! Ok I have a sick sense of humor maybe it's all the summer's I've spent day after day(I worked as a nanny when I was young) on the beach, fried my brain.

specials

Whooo I have some surprises for July!!! Announcing soon! Don't you wish you knew??!!!???

Last night, we headed out to check out the new playground in Falmouth and had a pizza picnic mmmm!

Cheeky took some shots of me being silly dancing at her request, I’m not sure if I'm brave enough to share LOL! She was using the wide angle and you can see people laughing behind me!! Always glad to bring laughter to people's lives! Seriously I think I love Bridget Jones  soooo much because I can so identify with her.  I have plenty of wobbly bits. I'm a bit ridiculous at times (often times) and I have friends that love me just the way I am.

Nightsky

Ok he asked for this sticking his mug in my wide angle lens. For those that aren’t in the know this is my mate, best friend, my husband Chris. I want him to retire NOW so I can bring his sense of humor to shoots with me! Any one who has met my son Isaac at a shoot, well the nut didn't fall far from the tree if you know what I mean.  And I still would like to know how we have five children and not one of them is a red head like their father!!!!!

Chris

Ok you know you are bad when you are sitting in the car waiting for a slushy (oh summer nights and slushies) shooting away at your poor dog just because your bored and he gives you that "I'VE HAD ENOUGH" glance!

The poor dog the kid's gave him a "haircut"

Mop perfect name for our dog because , he does usually resemble a dirty mop.

ok I wasn't brave enough LOL! I didn't delete them I swear! (only because Chris made me promise not too!)

Sporadic

I think that is how we'll be for a while with posts.... Any way here is another slideshow for you.

It sounds so redudant to say lovely family but they were. You could see how close knit they are.  My favorite capture of them is the middle child's wrinkled nose when she grinned but I loved them all very hard to choose which ones to share in the slideshow there were so many I could of added.

Here is the link

Wondertime slideshow

It's funny on a professional photographers board that I am a part some said my images look like they came from Wondertime magazine (parenting magazine http://wondertime.go.com/ ). I couldn't believe she said that because I actually thought myself about this session, that it looked like I had done the shoot for Wondertime. Isn't that a funny coincidence?

This is my favorite kind of session kids at home doing their thing.

Take a look at the slideshow they look a million times better full size.

Oh and I thought I should start adding what people say about me. (feeling shy to share but I know people do like to read other's reviews}

" The kids really loved you and said they had a lot of fun.  We're all really excited to see the pictures."
They haven't seen them yet. I hope they like them! Collage

another beautiful family

Well the busy season has arrived if you are thinking of doing a session this summer I would book soon.  It's amazing the flurry of emails I've been answering.  August is the month that is being the most requested and will probably fill the quickest.

I've just started working through this session. I'll  try to work through them as I they come through my camera keeps me movtivated to keep processing them so I'll add more of the kids later.

It was a freezing cold day last week super stormy. The kids turned blue seriously. I was lucky there was an inlet so I could keep them out of the wind a bit. So being stuck in the inlet we were really limited but I think we did ok.

yeah I know

Missing in action again! Sorry I've been super busy lots of fun stuff to share not all worked through yet though so just so you know I’m alive I will share a slideshow.

Every session I've ever done there is some point that I get mushy. The love I see in families just touches my heart so much and I'm a real softie.  This session was very special to me though I've thought a lot about them. I think it touched me especially because I have children that are just starting to border on adulthood.

The love between this young man and his Mom was so touching. You could see how incredible proud she was of him. It was wonderful to see how much they enjoyed each other's company in an easy going laidback way.

He is on his way to becoming a lawyer and has chosen to continue his schooling and become a doctor. Now that is impressive but what was most impressive to me was how he treated his mom... The young lady that captures this young man's heart is going to be princess in his heart. His mom has taught him the important things that who his is more important then what he does.

sigh...

I had a hard time limiting myself with the images I showed in their slideshow. I wish I could have added them all in way to0 many I loved.

Here is the link to their slideshow  Friends slideshow

Oh and I hope I don't embarrass him by the song choice. I felt his mom is like my husband's family. We've always been able to turn towards Mom and Dad when we were feeling a bit lost as to what to do and also we just always felt like they are there for us silent loving support.

another slideshow

Another slideshow this time a beach session. Lovely Family it was a joy to capture them. The slideshow doesn't contain all of their images just the ones I felt told their story.

This time the slideshow has many full sized images. I'm sorry about the logo going across since they are full sized I have to be a bit more careful. It's sad but often businesses will use images off the web as stock without permission.

I wanted to show a bit of what I actually show clients.  What  I show depends on what you mention you are interested in the questionaire I send.  Really everything depends so much on that questionaire. I can't tell you how much it drives my sessions. It helps me decide if a client wants a more traditional or more natural session it helps me know if they want that posed family shot or one more natural filled with expression. It's such a great tool and I"m love love love when people take the time to really fill it out fully.

Usually I show a few different collages these are great for limited wall spaces and gifts for family.

believer

Lickitystoryboardcopy

My husband has been reading this book  written by Dennis Rainey and shared a chapter he thought was excellent.  I loved this quote from it.

NO one puts God's people down more then themselves...
Instead, we need to find somebody who'll believe in us and lift us up. It's my personal opinion that God can always deal with pride in our lives. He can always reduce us. What we need is someone to come alongside you, alongside me and to believe in us, to help pull us up out of the quicksand of the past.
Robert Schuller

What would the world be like without believers.
